Project Overview
Homeowners in Piedmont added two Tesla Model Y vehicles and needed fast, reliable charging without upgrading their existing 200A service.
Challenges
- Limited panel capacity for two simultaneous 48A chargers
- Shared garage with concrete walls requiring careful conduit routing
- Homeowner requested future-proofing for potential third vehicle
Solution
Installed two Tesla Wall Connectors with built-in power sharing, pulling two new 60A circuits from the main panel. Added smart load management to cap total draw at 80A while allowing full 48A charging when only one car is plugged in.
Results
Both vehicles now charge at maximum speed overnight, with zero impact on household loads and full compatibility for future expansion.
